Deuteronomy 6:14-15 You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are around you; for the Lord your God among you is a jealous God; lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you today, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

2 Kings 17:35-39 with whom the Lord had made a covenant, and commanded them, saying, ďYou shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them; but you shall fear the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him. The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever more. You shall not fear other gods. You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods. But you shall fear the Lord your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.Ē
Jeremiah 25:6-11 and donít go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and donít provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no harm. Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp. This whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
