Matthew 12:2,3,5,7 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.” But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him. . . . Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless? . . . But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.

Matthew 12:12 How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.

Mark 3:4 He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?” But they were silent.

John 7:23 If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath?
