The kings of the Northern Kingdom (Israel) rejected the true God and instead worshipped Baal (1 Kings 12:18-33). Nevertheless, these kings are said to have rested with their fathers when they died. For example:
1 Kings 16:6 Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.
1 Kings 16:28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.
1 Kings 22:40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
2 Kings 15:22 Menahem slept with his fathers. . . .
