Dangers of Pride and/or Complacency

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.

Proverbs 6:10-11 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: so your poverty will come as a robber . . .

Proverbs 13:18 Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored.

Ezekiel 24:21  . . . Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

Obadiah 1:3 The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says in his heart, ‘Who will bring me down to the ground?’

Matthew 7:22-23 Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’
