Sin Renders Prayer Useless

Job 27:8-9 For what is the hope of the godless . . . Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?

Job 35:12-13 There they cry, but no one gives answer, because of the pride of evil men. Surely God will not hear an empty cry, neither will the Almighty regard it.

Psalms 66:18 If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldnít have listened.

Proverbs 1:25-30 but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof; I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you . . . Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. . . . because they hated knowledge, and didnít choose the fear of the Lord . . .

Matthew 25:11-12 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ĎLord, Lord, open to us.í [This is virtually a prayer] . . . But he answered, ĎMost certainly I tell you, I donít know you.í

Isaiah 59:2  . . . your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Jeremiah 11:10-11 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words . . . Therefore the Lord says, Behold, I will bring evil on them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry to me, but I will not listen to them.
